Tierney - an update

It has been a couple of months since you last saw Tierney on this page. That was on the first anniversary of her being admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children with cancer. So how is she doing?
Fantastic. No she is not talking or at least not with words but she makes herself understood pretty well and no she is not walking but the crawling is very fast and if it is a race for a dropped crisp it is a close thing between her and the dog!
She can stand up on her own now and has learned how to get off a bed without using her head as the first point of contact between her and the floor. Eating is a messy business and she only eats when she wants to, current weight is 19lb or about what I have to loose between now and April next year when I will be running the London Marathon on Tierney’s behalf to raise money for Great Ormond Street.
Tierney has gone away for the weekend with her mum Liesl, her sister Robyn and one of Robyn’s friends, Christina. I have been left at home with the boys, Sky and Warwick, so it is world cup rugby on the telly, microwave meals twice a day and beer and crisps on the sofa; without snake-hips Tierney around the dog may even get a few crumbs. Now that is what I call marathon training.
